Malta Classical Music Academy Returns With Voice Open Lecture

Malta Classical Music Academy Returns With Voice Open Lecture

From its very inception the European Foundation for Support of Culture (EUFSC) has worked to foster and support the field of music education across the Maltese Islands, keenly aware that providing opportunities for young students to benefit from first-class training and tuition is among the best ways to ensure that aspiring Maltese musicians can truly achieve their full potential.

Over the past few years, many of the endeavours in this regard have been gathered together under the remit of the Malta Classical Music Academy (MCMA), a long-running, one-of-a-kind educational initiative initiated by the Foundation that has seen hundreds of students being given the unique opportunity to study and learn from some of the top musical minds of our time.

In 2022 alone, this Academy has already seen the arrival of two renowned musicians – the flautist Tommaso Benciolini, and pianist Giuliano Mazzoccante – with both artists delivering masterclasses to groups of students at the Malta School of Music and the University of Malta. Now, in what is set to be the latest entry in a very busy year, the MCMA shall be hosting the celebrated soprano Andriana Yordanova, who has won plaudits around the world both for her abilities as well as her pedagogical style.

On Friday 6th May, the singer will be presenting an open lecture at the University of Malta between 1pm and 3pm, in an event made possible by the EUFSC, the MCMA, and the University itself. Students present shall have the chance to receive an insight into the subjects of opera, bel canto, and the human voice from one of the leading authorities on the topic in the Maltese Islands.
